and take the opportunity to visit and draw from the great art collections of the Louvre, as well as concurrent special exhibitions in Paris.

Monthly and Special Programs in Argenton-Chateau
Due to ongoing renovations to some of our facilities in Argenton-Chateau, and the expansion of our course schedule in Paris,
there are no monthly courses scheduled in Argenton-Chateau for 2010.
Monthly courses also convene occasionally in Argenton-Chateau, France from April to October only. They may
concentrate on painting, drawing or other topics. These courses sometimes run in parallel to our on-going 3-month Intensive
Courses, with the express aim to engender a creative atmosphere between different groups of artists and art students.

Monthly Programs - General Overview
Studio Escalier's full-time faculty and very select visiting faculty occasionally offer monthly and special programs for
8 to 12 students at a time.
Working alongside some of the best
contemporary classical artists and teachers, monthly students also profit from each other's practices, as they attend short,
effective classes and lectures.
Monthly programs typically concentrate on figure drawing or portrait painting, but also touch upon
color theory, figure structure and anatomy, perspective, composition, materials and techniques.
Additionally, monthly programs at Studio Escalier place students in the heart of Europe,
in a setting conducive to concentration, art-making,
forward-looking professional exchange, and normal contemporary life, with easy access to major centers
of European art and culture.
Anyone may apply. Enrollment is by advance application only, including portfolio submission (2 images).
Two or three Monthly or Special Programs are scheduled annually.
