2021 Alla Prima Portrait in Paris is a new opportunity for art students and professionals in Paris. Students will observe and receive critique in painting from founding faculty Nicole Michelle Tully and Timothy Stotz.

Students will profit from critique and lectures on alla prima painting, portraiture, and the features of the head, primarily using wet-into-wet oil painting and oil sketch techniques, including: color thumbnail (“poster study”), chromatic underpainting (“colorwash”), and single-pass painting execution, wet-into-wet (“form painting”).

Critique and painting demonstration will be given 4 days weekly, and the studio culture offers daily opportunities for questions, discussions and impromptu “work-in-progress” demonstrations.
