LOCATION: The Spring in Paris – Portrait Painting Studio (Afternoons) will offer theory and practice in portrait painting from life at our new Montparnasse Studio (75006 Paris).

CLASS DATES: Monday, 10 MAY – Friday, 4 JUNE 2027 (4 weeks)
CLASS SCHEDULE: Portrait painting from life
75 hrs total, Monday – Friday (afternoons only Weeks 1-3; all day Week 4) as follows:

Week 1: 15 hours,                    1430 – 1730
Week 2: 15 hours,                    1430 – 1730
Week 3: 15 hours,                    1430 – 1730
Week 4: 30 hours, 930 – 1230; 1400 – 1700 daily

The course will offer a curriculum of in-studio painting only.
No museum component is offered in this class.

This course schedule permits simultaneous enrolment in 2027 Spring in Paris – Portrait Drawing Studio (Afternoons) in Montparnasse, to study portrait drawing and painting in Paris all day for 5 weeks total.

CLASS SIZE: 12 maximum + instructors
WHO is ELIGIBLE? Anyone may apply – There are no academic or other pre-requisites.

All students must enroll full-time for the course.
TUITION PRICE: 2500 EUR

Cost of housing in Paris not included.
Students required to find and contract their own housing in Paris.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: “2027 Spring in Paris – Portrait Painting Studio (Afternoons)”

Our Spring in Paris – Portrait Painting Studio is a special 4-week program that offers a unique curriculum of in-studio painting from life at our new Montparnasse Studio in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, 70 hrs over 4 weeks (Monday to Friday).

2027 Spring in Paris – Portrait Painting Studio (Afternoons) will be taught by Nicole Michelle TULLY and Timothy STOTZ. The course will offer lecture-demonstrations and critique in the studio 5 days per week.

Students will primarily explore perceptual color using direct/ alla prima painting methods with both limited and prismatic palettes. Multiple portrait models will offer short (3,5 hour) 2-day (7-hour), and longer poses (15 hours) over the 4 weeks.

75 hrs total, Monday – Friday (afternoons only Weeks 1-3, and all day thereafter) as follows:
