2025 SUMMER in PARIS | FIGURE DRAWING | with Tobias HALL |
“I am convinced that every time one gives artists their freedom and suppresses the spirit of routine, art will benefit. We, the young, will draw from our heart and find there motifs of originality, of personality, an emotion that can’t reach us through the constraining recipes of the teaching that we’ve been given up to now.”
– Léon Bonnat, letter to the critic Ernest Chesneau, 23 December 1863

Specific strategies involving movement, shape, perspective, structural anatomy, & light will be introduced to the students as they work on a number of exercises and studies that will support a more thoroughly developed figure drawing.
